I grew up in Michigan, moving to NY and MA after college. I've been racing in endurance sports most my life since starting competitive road cycling when I was a teenager and coached runners while racing. Throughout that time I traveled and lived in just about every part of the US and even outside the country.
Interspersed with endurance sports I worked in the corporate world, typically in marketing, often in high tech. I seemed to always land in positions of leadership, training, and management, focusing on both individual development and team building dynamics as well as a few business startups. Indoor positions were always a bit dull to me, though I was able to create challenges within every job to keep them interesting.
Always a strong consideration, being a police officer became a reality for me at a slightly mature age. The challenge and rewards have been beyond what I expected and I truly look forward to every shift. Well, nearly every shift. Some days are difficult and can leave me a bit deflated but those are the days that make me a better officer, and person, for that matter.
My hobbies are photography, motorcycling, writing, tennis, running, cycling, dogs, firearms and other things outdoors.
