The Variety of Jobs Open to Police Officers In a Career Ep 13
G is back from the dead to join Local Mind Media. This episode we talk about the vast paths a police officer can follow in a career. Being a patrol officer is, quite simply, rewarding, complex, difficult and fun. Most officers find what they're interested in or good at within the first three years of being on patrol and either can hone those skills while on patrol or pursue one or more of the various collateral duties, special units, or departments within their organization. It's easy to see why officers continually work entire careers within law enforcement when you consider the options they have to grow individually and keep it fresh and fun.

Yes, the agency offers a lot of opportunities due to its location that other agencies the same size may not offer. Bomb squad being one example. I fully agree with the lack of communication from the line level to the top, and back down again. I like Nate's comment about adding to or enhancing another officer. Good Show and you now have three DRE's in the county, just not one at your agency anymore. DK.
