Monday?
Meeting up with Mtnrunner2 today for an easy couple hour run. Then who knows? I imagine some beer and food are in my future. What I do know is that, sadly, the Giro d'italia e finito. Alberto Contador controlled the tour in a manner that leaves little doubt about the outcome of the Tour de France. I think I watched him give stage wins to other riders (i.e. sat up and coasted behind them instead of bolting for the finish line) on three stages. The sad part about cycling for me after watching and loving the sport for 24 years now is that there is a residue of doubt when I see a performance like Contador's over the last few weeks, "wonder whether he's boosted by something." I've become so callous to the subject that I can finally just enjoy watching the races again (after roughly 10 years of boycotting them).
Thanks to those who serve and have served our country. The US is pretty messed up overall but I'm thankful to the defenders of it that we speak English.
English rules!
ReplyDeleteWish we could have been up there for a run with you guys - soon we will! Totally agree on the holding hostage for photos after paying for an event - the 80's are gone and aren't coming back. Just remember, a visit to your Spanish butcher for that special steak, and Mike and Paul can't even draft you :)) You have to admit though, Contador still has to get on the bike and climb those 15 - 20% grades!
Contador is definately a force, but I've been a A. Schlek fan for the past 2 Tours and an even bigger one this year. Hard to say what would have happened in 2010 if Andy's chain didn't pop off on that attack - he looked MFS at that point!
